Angel Figurines
Regardless of the type of collectibles that you cherish, there is always room for an angel figurine in your collection. Whether your purchase is to serve as a remembrance of a friend, family member or pet who has passed on to heaven, a decoration for your home during the christmas holiday, or a gift for yourself on your birthday, there is an angel figurine for every home.
You don't have to exclusively collect angels to find a few that you can work into the theme of your collection. Angel figurines can fit in with collections of religious items, children's figurines, and a musical themed collection. If you collect items related to a particular dog breed or that celebrate a particular month, you can also find an angel to add to your possessions. Others will want to add a few African American angel figurines to their collection of black memorabilia. And if you can think of nothing else that ties one to your collection, consider purchasing a christmas angel to display with your christmas decorations and ornaments. In fact, an angel tree topper might even just be considered a very large figurine.
After a brief survey of angel figurines that I have seen for sale recently, there are a couple that stick out in my mind as distinct types of angel figurines. Sets of birthday girl angel figurines have been made by an assortment of manufacture, with popular lines by Josef Originals, Napco, Lefton, and Enesco. Whether they are known as a collection of Angels of the Month or Birthday of the Month, the idea behind them is the same. A collection of twelve angel figurines each one tailored to celebration of a particular month. Another popular subset of angel figurines are christmas angel bells. Typically seen at christmas, display of the angel conceals a bell underneath. Another popular subset includes heavenly guardian angel dog figurines in your favorite dog breed.
Typically, collectible angels are made from porcelain, glass, crystal, ceramic or wooden. Angel statues, which could be considered a form of figurine, are very popular for outdoor as well as indoor locations and are made of cement or concrete.
There are a few manufacturers which I believe more frequently produced angel figurines than others.
Willow Tree - Whatever the emotion or event which you are trying to remember with an angel figurine, there is likely to be a resin figurine designed by Susan Lordi that fits your purpose. First introducing angel figurines in 2000, Willow Tree figurines include, among others, the Angel of Healing, Angel of Learning, Angel of Friendship, Angel of Prayer, and Angel of Freedom.
Lladro - Lladro's popular porcelain figurines include a large selection of angels for display in your home as part of your collection.
Jim Shore - Whether you are looking for an angel ornament or an angel to commemorate a particular event in your life, you can probably find it from this artist. If you enjoy American country decor or the folk art style, then you should be sure to check out Jim Shore's angel figurines.
Hummel - Picture the classic Goebel Hummel children's figurines transformed with angelic wings, and you'll have a good idea what you should expect from Hummel angel figurines.
