Nene Thomas
Nene Thomas is one of the best known fantasy fairy artists with a collection of beautiful fairy figurines cast in resin and handpainted with acrylic.
Thomas got her big break in 1994 when she stopped at the booth of Wizards of the Coast at a show in Texas. She showed them some of her art and their art director hired her to illustrate some of their Magic:The Gathering cards. Magic cards were immensely popular and she soon had work illustrating for other card game companies. She had been going to school full time and working in a meat packing plant part time prior to her discovery and decision to become a full time artist.
For the first ten years of her career, she mostly worked with watercolors, occasionally with a touch of acrylic. Now, almost all of her art is digital.
