The nativity scene is one of the most famous sets of figurines in the world.  It transcends the commercial aspect of figurines and sets forth a celebration and remembrance of one of the most famous stories in the world.  Often handcrafted, nativity sets have been produced around the world from local materials and with local cultural touches.  A collection of figurines from nativity sets around the world is quite a sight to see!

Of course, nativity sets have been produced by a number of different manufacturers over the year, as well as individual nativity pieces.  Among the most popular nativity sets are those from Fontanini, Nao, Willow Tree, Lenox China, Enesco's Precious Moments, Goebel, Lladro, Waterford, and Jim Shore.  You'll also find a number of handcrafted figurines from nativity sets made in Italy.
